Switzerland’s most visited historic site must evolve to stay relevant. Its 2007 identity no longer matched contemporary uses or audience expectations, prompting a transformation into a dynamic cultural brand for both global and local visitors.

The challenge for Hymn was to modernize a world-famous medieval silhouette without compromising its essence. Every decision required care, respecting its legacy while embracing the future. The goal: create an identity that feels timeless, natural, and suited to today’s digital world.

Hymn’s solution began with deep immersion into Chillon’s history, symbols, and materials, revealing a “contemporary medieval” spirit. This inspired a bold, enduring identity like marks carved in stone. A custom typeface, heraldic colors, and historically inspired design elements form a cohesive system. The result is a confident, living brand rooted in heritage yet designed for the future.
