Backslash (formerly “\Art” pronounced “backslash art”) is an art & technology organization and art residency founded in 2016 through Cornell Tech. Per their about page, they fund artwork and artists “whose practices are nonlinear, unconventional, unexpected, adventurous, intense, surprising, questionable, and primed for engagement with new technologies”— all of which they describe as “symptoms of being backslash.”
