Alina Skyson has created a new visual identity and portfolio website for Toronto-based photographer Carmen Cheung, reflecting the breadth of her practice across portrait, lifestyle, food, product and still-life photography. Rather than positioning Cheung around a single specialism, the identity and website use curation and intuitive filtering to make her diverse body of work easy to explore.
At the centre of the rebrand is a custom bilingual wordmark, combining Cheung’s English and Chinese names, alongside a distinctive ‘C’ symbol used across print and digital applications. Dia Type Bold and Quadrant Mono establish a clear typographic language while keeping the photography firmly in focus.
The website presents the portfolio through live filtering, allowing visitors to browse different categories before delving into individual projects. The identity also extends into tactile applications, including letterpress and blind-embossed business cards, stationery and promotional stickers, creating a considered brand system across digital and print.
