The Grand Palais, built for the 1900 Universal Exhibition, is one of Paris’s most iconic landmarks, embodying the Belle Époque’s optimism. Initially designed as a venue for French art, science, and industry, it has evolved over a century into a global stage for exhibitions, fashion, and live events.

After a four-year renovation, the Grand Palais reopened in June 2025, with an expanded, modernized structure, offering improved access, safety, and comfort. Hidden spaces were revealed, and the nave became a flexible cultural stage. The reopening featured major exhibitions, art fairs, and performances, including a collaboration with the Centre Pompidou and Chanel’s first show by Mathieu Blazy.

The challenge for Base was to create a new visual identity reflecting both the venue’s historic legacy and its forward-facing vision. The logo, with oversized typography and dynamic layouts, captures this ambition. The identity flexes to accommodate an eclectic cultural agenda, designed for digital, social, and print, projecting the pulse of contemporary culture while honoring its past.
