The Henry Smith Foundation, one of the UK’s largest independent grant-makers, has launched a confident new identity by OPX Studio.

OPX began by reshaping the foundation’s tone of voice, moving away from institutional language toward something warmer and more inclusive. The visual identity centres on a bold new wordmark that signals legacy and longevity, complemented by a flexible graphic system inspired by community networks and social connection.

A refreshed colour palette balances seriousness with optimism, while accessible typography ensures clarity across all channels. Designed to work seamlessly in both digital and physical spaces, the identity helps the foundation feel more visible and contemporary without losing its sense of purpose. OPX’s work brings renewed clarity and confidence to a 400-year-old institution. The result is a thoughtful, future-facing identity that supports the foundation’s mission to create lasting, positive change throughout the UK.
