This spring, Lithuania’s renowned international film festival, Kino Pavasaris, celebrates its 30th anniversary with a bold new identity, signalling its transformation from a seasonal event into a year-round cultural presence. andstudio was tasked with creating a visual system that would reflect this shift and endure for years to come.
For three decades, Kino Pavasaris has been a key fixture in Lithuanian film culture, recognised for showcasing global cinema to an intellectually curious audience. As the festival expanded beyond traditional cinemas to digital platforms and everyday screens, it required a versatile identity. andstudio responded with a clear, emotive, and lasting visual system centred around a striking eye-shaped logo—symbolising the festival’s ethos of “eye-opening cinema.” Animated iterations of the logo subtly reveal graphic layers, echoing how film opens our minds and perspectives.
To guide audiences through the festival’s increasingly diverse programme, andstudio introduced an emotional colour-coding system. Each palette is drawn from real film stills, capturing the mood of cinema rather than individual scenes. A carefully balanced combination of serif and minimalist typefaces ensures clarity and recognition across all media—from posters and screen graphics to digital banners and staff apparel.
