Edinburgh based Human Resources has developed the brand identity and packaging system for coffee roasters Obadiah, a modern coffee roastery based founded by Sam and Alice Young in 2017.
The identity and packaging system keeps things simple with a dedicated focus on coffee origin and the progressive farmers who produce the outstanding raw cherries used, avoiding the ‘sticker on bag’ style of packaging common with small artisan roasters.
Packaging and stationery is printed across a range of GF Smith Extract papers, a stock repurposed from disposable coffee paper cups that were previously destined for landfill. Choosing the Extract range was the perfect opportunity to use a material made directly from such a prevalent waste product within the wider coffee industry.
