Build’s collaboration with Timothy Saccenti on Ritual Technology is a compelling example of contemporary editorial design as both archive and artefact. The project centres on translating Saccenti’s expansive, multi-disciplinary practice into a cohesive printed form, drawing from over two decades of image-making.

Rather than imposing a rigid structure, the design approach embraces fluidity and curation, allowing analogue and digital aesthetics to coexist. Saccenti’s work, known for blending lighting, holography and generative techniques, demands a format that feels immersive and precise in equal measure.

The result is a highly collaborative outcome between photographer, designer and printer, where materiality plays a central role. Typography, sequencing and production choices collectively shape a tactile narrative, positioning the book not simply as documentation, but as an extension of Saccenti’s visual language.
