Studio.Build have been working with Umberto, formerly Signs by Umberto, to deliver a unique typeface and logotype that reflects the individual behind the craft.
Michael C Place of Studio.Build designed a logotype and the typeface that are one and the same.
Michael:
One of the key changes in the whole project was to convey this shift from ’Signs by Umberto’ to ‘By Umberto’. The simple mechanic of adding ‘By’ to his visual and verbal identity means he is able to talk not only about his sign work but really introduce all the other facets of his business.
So alongside the visual identity we worked with him on strategy, written identity, website design + build and presentation templates.
The website has a full catalogue of new images taken across three days from Arran Cross of Department Two.
